The village of Warm Springs is located in Bath County, surrounded
by the beautiful Allegheny Highland mountains of southwestern Virginia.
The majority of the county’s acreage is wooded and contains farmland,
rolling valleys and pristine rivers. Open year-round to hikers, the
Nature
Conservancy’s Warm Springs Mountain Preserve is one of the largest
and most biologically significant private forestlands in the Central
Appalachians.
For hundreds of years, people have come to Bath County to enjoy
the cooler summer temperatures and healing mineral waters. The Jefferson
Pools, where Thomas Jefferson soaked in 1818, remains the oldest
spa structure in Virginia. Nearby the historic The
Homestead Resort provides exceptional dining and recreation,
including a state-of-the-art spa, golf, horseback riding and skiing,
horse-drawn sleigh rides & ice skating in the winter.
The Garth
Newel Music Center offers chamber music and live concerts in
a natural setting throughout the summer. A walking tour through
the village of Warm Springs and the Courthouse Square will take
you to Bath
County Historical Society Museum, and charming Warm
Springs Gallery , which displays contemporary paintings and
fine crafts.
